Agents
Create an agent
The ways to start a new agent in FlowHunt AI Studio and what the agent builder looks like when it opens.
You create an agent from the Agents list. Every route ends in the same place: the agent builder, with your new agent open and its test chat ready.
Start the dialog#
- Click Agents in the sidebar.
- Click Add new Agent in the top right corner.
The button does not appear if your role cannot create flows or the workspace is read-only. The dialog it opens is titled Create new agent.
Choose how to start#
In the dialog, the field Describe what it should do, or search templates matches your words against the template library as you type, with no AI call and no credits. Four routes lead on.
A template. Click Use template on a card under Closest templates. FlowHunt copies the template into your workspace and opens it. If the template is an agent, you land in the agent builder. When the field is empty, the Templates list on the left of the dialog narrows the cards by category.
From your description. Click None of these fit?, then Start from scratch. The form opens with your sentence pre-filled as the description and as the system message, so you can refine it in the builder.
A blank agent. With the field empty, click Create blank Agent. Enter an Agent name (required) and optionally a description, a category and a detailed description, then click Create agent.
An import. Click Import Agent and drop a JSON file with an agent configuration, such as one the builder’s Export action produced. Confirm the name and click Create agent. See share and publish.
A blank agent starts with the model set to the workspace default, the system message “You are a helpful assistant.” and three tools: File Attachment Retriever, Document Retriever and URL Content Retriever. The success message reads Agent created.
Agents count toward your flow limit
An agent is stored as a flow, so it counts against the same plan limit as a workflow. Creating one also needs a workspace with credits. See plans and limits.
What the builder looks like#
- Chat. The main area is a test chat with your draft agent.
- Settings panel. On the right, with three tabs: Preferences, Advanced and History. Hide or show it with the panel button in the top bar, or with Ctrl+. (⌘. on a Mac).
- Sidebar. While you are in the builder, the left sidebar switches to Search…, New chat, and a Sessions list for this agent.
- Top bar. The agent’s name, a save status, undo and redo, the View as a user eye button, Publish changes, and a More actions menu with Import, Export, Share, Take the tour and Convert to workflow.
The first time you open the builder as an editor, a short tour points out the sessions, the three tabs, Publish and the preview button. Replay it any time from More actions → Take the tour.
If something goes wrong#
If you see Failed to create agent., the message ends with the reason the server gave, for example a reached plan limit. The template cards show Couldn’t load matching templates. when the template search fails; you can still use Start from scratch.
