Chatbots

Create and embed a chatbot

Create a chatbot for an agent, copy the embed code into your site or use the hosted page, and turn it on or off.

Creating a chatbot links an agent to a chat window you can show to visitors. Open Chatbots in the sidebar to see all of yours.

Create a chatbot#

  1. Start

Click Add Chatbot. On an empty workspace the page says Add your first Chatbot by clicking the button.

  2. Name it

Enter a Chatbot Name and, if you like, a Chatbot Description. Keep Chatbot enabled on to let visitors use it.

  3. Choose the agent

Under Used Agent, select the agent that will answer. The list also has Create new agent. If you use it, FlowHunt creates the chatbot and then opens the new agent in the editor so you can build it. Get the embed code afterwards by editing the chatbot.

  4. Choose the chatbot style

Pick one of the four styles in Chatbot Style, described below.

  5. Create

Click Create new Chatbot. A window titled Chatbot has been created opens with your embed code.

You can try the chatbot before you save. The Test your chatbot panel on the right shows a live preview once an agent is selected, and Try Chatbot opens it.

Chatbot styles#

StyleWhat visitors see
Chat buttonA button that stays on the page and opens the chat. It sits in a corner you choose, bottom right by default.
EmbeddedThe chat opens inside the element that contains the script, for example a footer or a page section.
Full pageA FlowHunt-hosted chat page you link to. You get a URL, not a script.
Commerce searchA search bar with an AI Mode button, for shops. Like Embedded, it appears where you paste the script. The agent needs a Search On Type trigger for the search bar, and AI Mode runs its Chat Input trigger.

For Embedded, you can also switch on Show close button.

Add the chatbot to your website#

Copy the code from Copy and close in the creation window. To get it again later, open the chatbot from the list and scroll to Integration Code. Paste it into your page’s HTML footer. The snippet loads the chatbot script from FlowHunt and starts it, and it appears wherever you paste it.

For the Full page style, the dialog shows a FlowHunt Hosted Page link instead. Copy the link and share it, or use it in a button on your site.

Shopify stores

If a Shopify store is connected to your workspace, an Integration Type switch appears with General and Shopify. Choose Shopify and follow the steps: copy the Workspace ID and Chatbot ID, open your theme in the Shopify editor, enable the FlowHunt AI Chatbot app embed, paste the IDs and save. Later changes made in FlowHunt reach your store automatically.

Turn it on or off#

Use the status in the list, or the Chatbot enabled switch in the dialog. A disabled chatbot stays in your workspace and keeps its settings.

Edit or delete#

Click a row to edit it, then Update Chatbot to save. Delete removes the chatbot and asks you to confirm. The script on your site then stops working, so remove it from the page too.

Changes reach live sites

Style, color and text changes apply to pages that already embed the chatbot. You do not need to paste the code again.

Next steps#

Customize how the chatbot looks, or add a way to hand over to a person.
