Troubleshooting
Out of credits
What you see when a workspace has no credits left, what still works, and how to get running again.
When the balance reaches zero, AI Studio stops anything that spends credits. You can still look at your work, but you cannot run agents or save changes.
Symptoms#
- The sidebar shows 0 credits left.
- A Read-only mode notice appears: “Your account has no active subscription or insufficient credits. You can view your agents but changes cannot be saved and agents cannot be run.”
- Opening most pages sends you to Subscription. The owner sees “No credits left. Purchase more credits or update your subscription plan to continue using the app.” Everyone else sees “Seems like your workspace is out of credits. Please contact the workspace owner to topup the credits.”
- Home shows You are out of credits, or This workspace is out of credits if you are not the owner.
- A run or API call fails with “Insufficient credits to perform this action. Please recharge your credits.”
- Visitors to your chatbot see “Sorry, you’ve reached your payment limit.”
- A scheduled run is switched off, with the hint “This CRON was deactivated because the workspace ran out of credits. Re-enable it once credits are available.”
Likely causes, in order#
- The monthly credits are used up. Check Transactions and Costs Reporting to see what spent them. See credits.
- The workspace credit limit was reached. If an owner or admin set one under Settings → Credits, spending stops at that number until the next billing period, even if the owner still has credits. The message is “Workspace credit limit reached”.
- The subscription ended. You see “Your subscription has ended. Purchase one of the plans to continue using FlowHunt.” and a message that the workspace is inactive because its subscription ended.
- A trial ran out. The owner gets a dialog, “You’ve run out of credits”, offering Start subscription today, which charges the card now and adds the plan’s credits straight away.
What still works#
While you are out of credits you can open Home, Agents, Workflows, History, Transactions, Costs Reporting, Settings, users, API keys and secrets. Everything else sends you to Subscription. Deleting and pausing are still allowed, so you can scale down.
Fix it#
- Ask the workspace owner to open Subscription from the account menu. Only the owner can see it.
- Under Out of Credits?, buy a one-off credit pack, or choose a bigger plan. See plans and limits.
- If the cause was a workspace credit limit, an owner or admin raises or switches it off under Settings → Credits.
- Re-enable anything the system switched off, such as scheduled runs, and run your agent once to confirm.
To avoid a repeat, set a Low Credit Alert and, on Pro and above, turn on Auto-Recharge Credits in Settings → Credits.
Not the owner?
Admins and editors cannot buy credits. Use the workspace switcher to move to a workspace that has credits, or contact the owner. See team and roles.
